Alu tikkis........Mmmmm yummy!

This is one of those recipes my mom taught me over the phone! Turned out pretty good!

:: Ingredients ::

For the tikkis:
Potato 1 Kg boiled and peeled
Cornflour 3 tbsp
Salt to taste

For the filling:
Paneer 100 gms chopped
Peas 1/2 cup boiled
Onion 1 large finely chopped
Ginger 2 tsp finely chopped
Coriander 1/2 cup finely chopped
garam masala
amchoor
bhuna jeera
mirchi
Salt to taste (remember that salt has been added to the potato mixture as well!)

Take some oil in a wok. Add the onions. Saute till they blush a little (turn pink) now add the peas and ginger...mash them a little and cook for a 1 minute. Now add the finely chopped paneer. Add all the masalas and salt after 2-3 minutes. Add the coriander. and turnoff the stove. Let this cool.

For the tikkis mix and mash potatoes, cornflour and salt together. make sure it becomes smooth!

Now take the potato mixture in your hand and flatten it a little...put a little filling mixture on it and make into a ball...flatten them a little and fry these tikkis till the turn crispy and brown!

Serve with meethi chutney, dahi and bhuna jeera...garnish with ginger and coriander!
